“1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.”
(Psalm 1:1-3 NASB)
The sight and sounds of gently bubbling and flowing waters are always very soothing and therapeutic.
When I design and create fountains my preference is for the water to flow softly, smoothly and continuously and so I always do a built-in reservoir when I throw a fountain-piece. The water fills the reservoir and gently overflows, creating a beautiful and very calming rippling effect as it flows over and down the surface of the Artwork…on and on and on…..
Recently as I was quietly meditating on Psalm 1, one of my all-time favorite Psalms, I had a little vision of a beautiful sanctuary, perhaps a quiet undiscovered creek or an exotic oasis, very blessed and peaceful but at the same time invitingly vibrant, and exuberant. Strong majestic trees, perhaps tall splendrous pines or lush green palms, seemingly grow out of a huge rock outcrop atop a crystal clear and clean bubbling spring! It’s definitely a place of deep rejuvenating rest!
